![]() ![]() ![]() The Flash Season 3 episode 21, “Cause and Effect,” airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. It’s clear there’s more to Savitar than just the Future Flash. 'Savitar is a time remnant future Barry Allen from Flashpoint who was happy in Flashpoint and wants it restored/take revenge.' - u/BizWax (Note: This is the TL DR version. Alchemy, who turned out to be an innocent victim of Savitar’s plans to get at Barry Allen. It’s quite possible these are followers of the God of Speed, Savitar, not Dr. Savitar could literally speak through him. Does Future Flash call himself Savitar because there have been others before him? What’s With That Cult Stuff?Įarlier this season, we see a bunch of followers in hoods kneeling to Dr. Where did Jay hear this from? Because this doesn’t really make sense if Savitar is Barry. Jay also said he was the first human the speed force ever granted power and he only hunts speedsters when he believes them to be a threat. Jay Garrick, the original Flash, said he thought Savitar was just a myth. What does killing Iris fix? What Did Jay Garrick Mean? When Barry travels to the future to look for clues about Savitar’s identity, we see Savitar didn’t have an interest in killing anyone but Iris. Dude can travel at like a gazillion miles an hour and has people worshipping him, what else could he want? Savitar has said he doesn’t want to kill Barry. We get it, this is an evil version of Barry Allen from the future. Is this a Flashpoint version of Barry Allen that got erased in time? Is this the time remnant that got sucked into the speed force during Barry’s battle with Zoom last season? Is this the version of Barry that ‘Vanishes In Crisis’ in 2024? The message from Barry Allen to Rip Hunter from 2056 on Legends where he says to “trust nobody, not even himself” is also suspicious. This could be more of a question of where, than when, if some fan theories prove true. If this is the current version of Barry Allen, when after Iris’ death did he go to the dark side? Where? Savitar knows every step Barry takes, every move he makes, because he’s lived through it himself. How does future Barry have scars all over his face? Tracy Brand pointed out that Savitar travels so fast, the velocity could hurt him without the protective suit. If it’s not all due to the protective suit, how is this possible? There could be a way for Barry to get faster to prepare for the faceoff. Since Barry Allen is Savitar this proves he’s the fastest man (god?) alive. figure out how to stop him when it comes down to the final moments (which, we know it will according to the episode synopsis.) Here’s what we still need to know. ![]() CWīut there’s still more to learn about Savitar, which could help The Flash and Co. He takes on the name of Savitar, to give him that feeling of power as the future Savitar had.Savitar takes off his suit and reveals himself as Barry Allen from the future. He does, however know about the philosopher’s stone and uses that to regain his speed. He then realizes that he will need his speed to kill Barry but there is no particle accelerator in the era in which he is in (ancient times). He is hell bent on revenge against Barry for forcing him to be trapped in “eternity”, as Savitar puts it. What if that Barry (on their quest to defeat Savitar) makes Wally run so fast that he gets trapped in the speed force … So Wally then gets out of the speed force at the cost of his speed and his sanity. One Redditor, Nightwing008 put forth this logical conclusion: “We know that Wally is faster than Barry at his stage of his speed training. Suspect 1: Wally Westįans on Reddit have been naming a future version of Wally West as Savitar since December. And, a few of them sound more than plausible. Named after the Hindu god of speed, Savitar has withheld his true nature from Team Flash but he’s dropped several clues about his real identity that hardcore fans are poring over. After the Reverse-Flash and Zoom, there’s now Savitar, a Mark Waid and Oscar Jimenez creation who is making Barry Allen’s life a living hell. The CW’s Arrowverse revels in mystery identities, and Season 3 of The Flash is no different. ![]()
